As previously mentioned in this blog, I built the set for Propeller Dance’s “ViewFinder” Performance at Arts Court Theatre in Ottawa. Renata Soutter and Alan Shain were interviewed this morning on CBC Radio 1 in Ottawa.

Emig Research is doing the set design for a dance performance entitled “View Finder” by Propeller Dance to be staged at Arts Court Theatre in Ottawa on November 13th and 14th at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available at the Arts Court Box Office: 613-564-7240. This is a performance by three dancers, Renata Soutter, Shara Weaver, and Alan Shain in an exploration of time and space. Continuum was originally created as triptych for my 2007 exhibition entitled “Continuum” at Axeneo7, an artist run centre in Gatineau, Canada. There are two of the three on display at the 2008 EBA Open Studio. These large-scale works measuring 352 cm x 200 cm x 38 cm are constructed of high-density plywood, mirror, fluorescent lights, and paint surrounded by a cherry veneer frame.

I went to the Golden Cherry award event last night. It was a fun event that allowed for lots of conversation but no ribbon.

Fun all the same.

I have been nominated for two Golden Cherry Awards; one as Installation Artist of the Year and the other as Artist of the Year in Sculpture. What fun…

I came across this article on slashdot about cows pointing north. It is wonderful how they seem to know and we don’t pay attention.

I will be participating in the Candela Art Exhibition from September 16th to 21st at Cube Gallery in Ottawa. This exhibition explores electric light as an artistic medium. More into to follow as the show approaches.

A review of my performances at the Canada Dance Festival appears on the Dance Current Magazine website. The performances were from June 7th to the 14th at noon every day at the National Arts Center in Ottawa.
